It’s the look of love for Carter as David DeLuise has been cast as Pete Shannon, a love interest for Samantha Carter (Amanda Tapping) in the late Season Seven episode "Chimera." DeLuise's character is a police detective and a civilian.

In a recent interview with Zap2It. "I've spent the morning naked in bed with a man," Amanda Tapping reported. "… it's the first time my character's had sex in seven years. Carter finally gets a boyfriend who does not die, for the first time."
Amanda was also happy with the change in clothes, she got to drop the P-90 and pick up heels.
